1. Overview
Cadence Clock is an interval timer for iPhone, with companion features for Apple Watch. This policy covers the app, this website, and the optional encrypted preset-sharing feature.
You do not need to create an account to use Cadence Clock. We do not run advertising networks or behavioral tracking in the app or on this website.
2. Information stored on your device
Your timer settings, saved presets, custom round names, selected skins, sound preferences, and similar app settings are stored locally on your device.
Normal timer and stopwatch use does not require sending those settings to our sharing server. You can edit or delete saved presets in the app at any time. Your device's own backup settings may separately affect whether local app data is backed up or restored.
3. Optional encrypted preset sharing
Preset sharing is optional. When you choose to share a preset, Cadence Clock encrypts the preset on your iPhone before it is uploaded.
- What a shared preset can include: the preset name, timer durations, custom round names, selected skin, selected sound theme, and related preset preferences.
- How it is protected: the sharing server receives encrypted data, not the preset in readable form. The decryption key is not stored with the encrypted preset data.
- Where it is stored: the encrypted preset is stored using Cloudflare R2. Related database records include a share ID, a storage reference, an encryption version, the size of the encrypted data, creation and expiration times, and the app-verification key ID associated with the upload.
- Who can open it: anyone with the complete private share link may be able to open the preset, so only send links to people you trust.
- How long it lasts: shared preset links stop working five days after they are created. A scheduled cleanup process then removes expired encrypted presets and their associated share records, which may happen shortly after the link expires.
- What the recipient can do: opening a shared link lets the recipient review the preset first. Nothing is imported into their app unless they choose to save a copy.
If you send a link using Messages, Mail, AirDrop, or another service, that service handles the delivery of the link under its own terms and privacy practices.
4. Device verification and abuse prevention
To help protect preset sharing, Cadence Clock uses Apple's App Attest system. When sharing is used, our Cloudflare-hosted service stores device-specific security information that helps verify that requests are coming from a legitimate copy of the app and helps prevent abuse.
This information can include an App Attest key identifier, a public cryptographic key, the app identifier, a verification counter, and registration and last-use timestamps. The service also creates short-lived authentication challenge records while verification is taking place.
The service also processes IP addresses and related network information to rate-limit requests and protect the sharing feature. This information is used only to operate and secure the service, not for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Important clarification: these device-verification records are separate from your shared presets. Shared presets expire after five days, but device-verification records may remain after a share link expires and currently do not have an automatic deletion date.
5. Service logs and website requests
Cloudflare hosts this website and the encrypted preset-sharing service. To deliver the site and run the sharing service, Cloudflare processes technical request information such as timestamps, HTTP methods, URLs or endpoints, status codes, and request identifiers. Cloudflare also processes IP addresses and other network information needed for security and delivery.
Our sharing service currently has operational invocation logging enabled. These logs are used for reliability, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention. Log retention depends on the applicable Cloudflare settings and service plan.
This website does not use advertising trackers, third-party analytics scripts, or contact forms.
6. Emails and support
If you choose Send Feedback in the app, Cadence Clock opens your email app with a draft message. That draft includes your iPhone model, iOS version, and Cadence Clock version and build number, along with spaces for the feedback details you choose to add.
Nothing is sent to us unless you decide to send the email. If you do email us, we receive your email address and anything else you include in the message. We use that information to answer questions, investigate issues, and manage support correspondence.
Your email provider separately processes the message under its own privacy policy.
7. Service providers and sharing
We use Cloudflare to host this website and to support encrypted preset sharing, device verification records, rate limiting, and operational logs. Apple's App Attest technology is used to verify requests from the app.
We do not sell personal information or share it with advertising networks. Information is disclosed to service providers only as needed to operate, protect, and support Cadence Clock, or when required by law.
8. Retention, choices, and deletion
- Local presets and settings: you manage these on your own device, including by deleting saved presets.
- Shared presets: links expire after five days, and the associated encrypted objects and share records are removed by scheduled cleanup.
- Device verification: when you use preset sharing, Cadence Clock stores a device-specific security identifier and related verification information to help prevent unauthorized use. These records are separate from shared presets and may remain after a sharing link expires. They currently do not have an automatic deletion date.
- Logs and support emails: operational logs follow the hosting platform's retention settings. Support emails may be retained as needed to respond, maintain support records, and meet legal obligations.
To ask about information associated with you, or to request deletion where identification and deletion are possible, email cadenceclockapp@gmail.com with “Privacy Request” in the subject line. Because Cadence Clock does not use user accounts, we may need additional information to identify relevant server records, and we may not always be able to associate an anonymous technical record with an email address.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if app features or data practices change. Any revised version will be posted here with a new effective date.
